You claim, "GOD SAYS," in big letters, but your only support is three quotations attributed to an early evangelist. And even these are misattributed, as two of them are blatant forgeries and the other a copying error. And not even they support half the outrageous claims you make in this post. And your fixation on rules is reminiscent of the legalism of the Pharisees.

Yes, it feels very natural to submit to him, even if he wants to discipline me. I definitely think it's easier for us wives who can follow and be disciplines by a strong authority rather than having to do so to ourselves. Like the article says, domestic discipline was natural for centuries until feminism came in and changed things. I've noticed the more feminist changes I roll back in my own life the better I feel and the better my marriage is.

The problem is we often see things with modern secular eyes instead of biblical eyes. Yes, having your husband spank you is controversial because it's not specifically mentioned in the bible. However, we're supposed to submit to him and discipline is something that the bible makes very clear that all of us need. So when I do something wrong I don't have a problem submitting to his authority and it's honestly a lot easier just to take the spanking. We get off easy on this one but husbands are obligated to punish themselves and self-punishment can go on for days, weeks or even years.

Thank you for saying this. It's a controversial idea even within the Christian community, but I've found my myself much more feminine and submissive since my husband began disciplining me, and it's improved our relationship immensely. It may just be my own experience, but I wish it were easier to convince other couples to try it out. Most wives I know are put off just by their initial impression of the idea to give it any real consideration.

That's your right. There are no rules in my sub that demand absolute agreement.

The only thing I will say is that I'm careful to not be imposing our Christian marital standards on others. So it's equally wise that people that disagree with those standards not try to impose their precepts on people like my husband and I.

I'm not very eloquent with my words and I seldom can explain anything very well. However, I think the article I linked to said it best.

" Spanking no more infantilizes a woman than a speeding ticket from a police officer infantilizes a man. Adults can and do discipline other adults all the time.

But some will answer my police officer giving a ticket analogy with “a speeding ticket is a piece of paper and the officer is not bending you over his knee and spanking you”. The reason for this kind of answer is because in our modern culture we look on any type of physical punishment with disdain. We think physical punishment, especially toward adults is “uncivilized”.

Husbands are the head of the family like Christ is the Head of the Church. I sure hope to never be "spanked" by Him. It's difficult to reconcile your points with Genesis, where it says the two shall become "one flesh." The wife was created to be a help-mate, not a subordinate.

Another verse that comes to mind is 1 Peter 3:7, where husbands are instructed to treat their wife as to the weaker vessel with honor, that their prayers aren't hindered. Again, not sure that reconciles with 'spanking" them. Just my two cents.

My daughter will start kindergarten this school year. She'll be attending a private, church based kindergarten at the daycare she used to go to. We decided this based on how the public schools are conducting themselves during this so-called pandemic.

Right now from what I've gathered, our public schools aren't too bad in the indoctrination, but our democrat controlled state legislature has tried to push a sex education agenda that we both vehemently disagree with. It mostly failed, but I suspect that they will try it again at some point in the future.

For now, we have decided to use a combination of homeschooling and private schools. To be honest, I kinda resent that we have to go to this extreme to protect our children.

The reason is on the Wikipedia page for "Little House on the Prairie" in the section "Depiction of minorities". I think it's important to understand that this is period literature and that there might be ideas in the story that may no longer be considered acceptable or may seem odd to us now - history has a tendency to work that way. But as the Wikipedia article points out, "...these portrayals do not necessarily represent the views of the author and there are very positive portrayals of native American and black people."

I read "Little House on the Prairie" to my niece when she was little, and I fully intend to read those books to my daughter when she's old enough to understand them. I think it's important that she have an understanding of what the past was like.

It seems to me that homosexuals like to meddle in politics and if what's going on today is any proof then they're politics are extremely messed up. So my question is: Were the homosexuals being persecuted because of the kind of sex they were engaging in or because everyone feared their far-left beliefs?

I don't understand this entire "coming out" mularky.

Here's my reasoning why I think coming out is hogwash,

I'm married and I don't discuss my sex life with anyone. Plus, when people come over to our home no one even sees our bedroom. In fact, because my husband is almost 30 years older than I am the majority of people don't even think we're married.

Same thing with homosexuals,

No one would know that they're gay if they just stopped flaunting it in everyone's face. When a gay couple goes for a walk together there will be people that are going to think the worst and be disgusted but 97% of the people won't care at all. Sure enough that I believe homosexuality is a sin and talks to me about it then I'll state my beliefs. However, I'm not going to break down someone's bedroom door to stop them from doing whatever it is that they're doing. All I'm saying is keep what's private PRIVATE.

This doesn't come out really well, but I'll try anyway.

I'm a theistic evolutionist, meaning I see no difference between God's will and evolution. From my viewpoint, they are two sides of the same coin.

That being said, to try to fundamentally change humans for a political agenda is counterproductive. It's like rebelling against ourselves, our very nature. This is ridiculous.

Men and women are different. These differences are not a societal construct. Our bodies are different and our brains and minds are different. This is something that should be a source of joy and celebration. When a man and woman come together in marriage, they should form a whole, or in the language of Scripture, one body.

To make effective societal changes we should work within the context of our core nature, which is made in the Image of God. We must be always mindful of what He has planned for us and our natural history so we can be truly happy. To do otherwise is to invite disaster.

We also want to change the rules to suit ourselves as we please. If we did this same thing with something like gravity, a lot of people would have broken bones, at the very least.

The one thing that is very noticeable today is that this has become particularly over the top.

I'm Catholic, but nevertheless, that's true. I'd add a caveat: to be Bible-centered, people have to read their Bible. All of it. And deal with it, including the parts they dislike.

It dawned on me at one point that many people who 'Read their Bible every day!' are reading the exact same handful of parts they like and make them feel good, usually uplifting parts. The parts of the Bible which grate on them or make them feel uneasy, they never read again.

From what I understand there were problems with drugs, promiscuity in their home, destruction of private property in the name of feminism and a list of other insanities. Today that young woman is an inspiration and proof that prayer works. She's got married just before the lockdown and she's become a role model to other young ladies in her church. Can you give an example of something a husband may command of his wife that his wife would rightly refuse? And I mean the most bland, most-likely-to-happen of examples rather than extremes (like 'poison our child').

The 1st example that came to my mind actually was a husband demanding his wife have an abortion. In society abortion is legal but it certainly is against God's will.

A more down to earth example is a husband expecting a wife to lie for him. My husband did a rolling stop at a stop sign and got pulled over. I was content to sit quietly and not say anything but he debated with the police officer and told him to ask me. So, I told the truth and my husband got a ticket.

Can you give an example of something a husband may command of his wife that his wife would rightly refuse? And I mean the most bland, most-likely-to-happen of examples rather than extremes (like 'poison our child').

I'm curious how this would manifest, since I think this is the stickier part of submission.

Keep in mind, Paul said these things.

Of course, that is something I always pay attention to when reading Romans. How could you not? In the case of Paul, he is important to me because of the way he opened up monotheism to gentiles. That aspect of his legacy is incredibly remarkable.

Keep in mind, Paul said these things. Paul's words sometimes contradicted Yeshua. Paul as a man, fallible, but Godly, we must then look to see what Yeshua preached. Paul makes the assumption that God appointed the authorities for Good and that they do terror unto the bad. Paul believes that all the empires are appointed by god.

But Yeshua was tempted by the devil as to acquire all the empires and land, to lord it over their subjects. Yeshua stood firm on God.

This event alone illustrates that those who rule in empires are not of God!!!

Yeshua says give back to cesars what is his. If that coin has his face on it, or signature, then it is his. Renounce these things and work and walk in faith as a brotherhood and money is then not needed!

Renouncment is not denouncement or an attack. Surely, it could be falsey reasonsed that it is, and Yeshua was attacked for this reason. As a tevolutionary preacher of Love and walking in faith.

Yeshua was anti-Usury. He said give back to others what they pretend not to want but need. Do not ask for it back. He had plenty of qualms with usury and lawyers who "took the key of knowledge away from man."

This alone illustrates that giving our idolatrous support to a machine hellbent on war and destruction is the antithesis of Christianity. But to follow it accordingly, means to renounce all material things and pleasures.

support authorities" to mean unconditional support of oppressive regimes that trample on the rights of its citizens. By "authority" it meant good & just government.

Yes, indeed. Think about paying your taxes too. Lots of statists claim that Yeshua said to pay your taxes and for that reason gove your support to a state (corporation).

What they fail to mention is that he only claimed that Caesar's face was on the coin. So it is his! So give back to Caesar's what is his!!!

That doesn't mean:

And also pay your taxes and give unconditional support to Ceasar as your God and idolize the state and everything it stands for.

It means give back to Ceasar what is his and walk in faith with nothigg but a walking stick. To help those in need and above all listen to God and do the works of Yeshua.

Francis of Assisi started his own brotherhood for it was to live a utilitarian life and live above all in faith.

Money, especially blood money based on debt should be renounced. How? To live in faith and preach the way of Yeshua. Do as he did. If an entire brotherhood lived like this and followed Yeshua, money wouldn't be needed.

Remember Rome? Remember the pro-creditor class of the Hillel sect of Jews?

Why were Christians and christ so feared by Rome and the Jewish High priests, why?

Because men will not live by bread alone. To follow Christ is to give up what you have and walk in faith. To be a living sacrifice unto God and to be an example unto others as Yeshua was.

The simple life of going to a tax exempt church every other sunday and paying your taxes for the war machine and actually pretending that voring in the elections will chamge anything isn't going to cut it. You must become like Christ. Walk in faith.

Religious institutions might be failing but let us pray that the individual can find God and follow his instructions in calmness and humility.

Rome's Christians abided in brotherhood. And as a brotherhood did not have property, or many did not.

They were a threat to Rome not because they targeted Rome but because they RENOUNCED THE WORLD and followed Yeshua's teachings. THEY were seen as despicable to the violent culture of Rome, they held Ceasar as a man and would not dare say he was God.

What did Yeshua say about taxes and money. He explained that Ceasar's face was on it. Sooooooo, it is his. Our Federal Reserve Notes are not ours, they are made by someone. So, renounce this world and follow in faith. If eveeyone did this a brotherhood in Christ could be established and momey would need not be involved let alone money based on permanent public debt.

Something many so-called Christians in Christendom do not do.

I fight with this disconnect often. But pray I find peace and the way.

I asked a question of u/calmbluejay and her husband. You chose to speak for her in the s/BiblicalSubmission sub, where:

"This is a sub for Christian biblical male-female relationships. Here we discuss how men should be allowed to lead in a marriage and how women be his help mate."

Alright, and with that context you chose to:

"Honestly, I didn't read your entire post, just the first couple of sentences."

OK, and yet I am the one who:

"need to go back to school to substantiate your condescending 'I'm better than you' attitude with a shred of knowledge. "

Insulting to say the least. Well at least you got this right:

I don't know who ‘they’ are in this context, I don't know what "so do I" means in the earlier statement.
As for my response, it was a series of two question that you chose to ignore. That is provided that you are u/calmbluejay ‘s husband. But I don’t know if you are, because you have entered this conversation without introducing yourself as such. Without typing out your statements in full, and relying on short hand replies, I, as you, can add any context to them we wish. In this manner our words will cease to have meaning. We will only appear to be connecting with each other while filling in the narratives on both of our ends, without expressing actual meaning. What you are currently doing, in using a broken dialog. Such short hand is the bases for George Orwell's new speak. This is how the individual loses their identity and their abilities to express themselves.
I ask of you that you, use proper nouns and descriptive nouns. “they” when several parties are being discussed is not acceptable. LOL is not communication. “So do I” is not a sentence that holds inherent meaning, when the last sentence it is being replied to does not warrant such acknowledgment. And above all else. Please answer my questions when I ask them of you. Simply echoing back my own words to me, is the equivalent of saying “I know you are but what am I” Getting back to my questions, for your benefit, here is the context for my questions:

“The problem is that we've been taught by our church leaders that we're supposed to do whatever the government says and if there's a problem Jesus will take care of it for us.”

My questions were prefaced with a statement on the complexities of both religion and the united states government, sans the statement ‘with all that in mind.’ My questions are as follows:

  1. So if the government under the control of Bill Gates and his religious eugenics ideologies deems it necessary that you take an experimental vaccine that edits your DNA rendering you no longer human, you submit?

  2. OK, well, putting aside the fact that all words of religions doctrine have been written by man, can you or your husband explain to me why the main audience hall for the Pope, is shaped like that of a viper's head? https://www.collective-evolution.com/2017/11/17/the-dark-secrets-behind-the-popes-audience-hall-its-a-giant-reptilian/

"So do I" Is not a logical reply to the entire comment.

Actually, if you read carefully, it totally is a logical reply to your statement. u/calmbluejay is saying that she also encourages people to oppose the suppression of the right to freely assemble along with freedom of speech.

Or is it that you??? As for doing as your government tells you, there are at least six deep states that exist within the government and that's just surface level. Where as there are thirty three thousand denominations and independent views of Christianity and Jesus. So if the government under the control of Bill Gates and his religious eugenics ideologies deems it necessary that you take an experimental vaccine that edits your DNA rendering you no longer human, you submit? OK, well, putting aside the fact that all words of religions doctrine have been written by man, can you or your husband explain to me why the main audience hall for the Pope, is shaped like that of a viper's head?

Refer them to this. In the article below, the professor is talking about the government of the Philippines, which murders people very willingly. The point still stands I think.

ON ROMANS 13 AND OF PASTORS WHO SUPPORT OPPRESSIVE REGIMES BY TWISTING THE MEANING OF SCRIPTURES TO ENCOURAGE BLIND AND FANATICAL SUBSERVIENCE TO GOVERNMENTS.

Pastors who are apologists of this regime keep on harping Romans 13 as basis in their fanatical and unrelenting support of this regime. But if one really pays close reading to the whole chapter of Romans 13, the scriptural text DID NOT say "support authorities" to mean unconditional support of oppressive regimes that trample on the rights of its citizens. By "authority" it meant good & just government. I must repeat: Romans 13 DID NOT tell us to support a cruel, fascist or abusive government. Pastors must read Romans 13 in proper context and see that the text is saying that we ought to support a government that acts justly, a government that doesn't arbitrarily persecute citizens just for power tripping or for perpetuating cruelty and culture of death (Romans 13:1-3). Romans 13 is not a chapter to support cruel tyrants or evil regimes but it encourages conditional support of a government whom we can accept and support the government in good conscience and for as long as our good conscience allows us to support such a government (See Romans 13:5).

I would like to encourage those who utilized Romans 13 as a blanket authority text to support any government no matter such a government is corrupt, murderous and tyrannical to please read the whole Romans 13 carefully and reflectively, by taking into consideration clear context of the whole chapter; and see that St. Paul is clearly implying that the government that he encouraged us to support in this chapter is one that punishes wrong doers by the government’s just, fair and righteous judgment and not punishing arbitrarily the helpless just by power tripping or simply to perpetuate its cruelty and hunger for power (See Romans 13:4-5). Romans 13:5 asks us to conditionally support a government that dispenses justice rightly & we support such a government for as long as our conscience tells us to: that means such a government is doing just actions and not trampling on the God-given rights of citizens. This is the government we ought to support, if one reads carefully and not carelessly Romans 13 in context and by plain common sense.

If we support bad tyrannical and murderous government that kills its own people, remove from its citizens their freedoms and their rights, then that would be sin against God because the Scriptures say: "It is better to obey God rather than human structures of power” (See Acts 5:29). If we read the Old Testament then we will see that all prophets of God like Samuel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Micah, Hosea, Malachi and all other holy prophets criticize the abuses and the excesses of the various kings of Israel who were incumbent during their time of prophethood. God commanded these prophets to call the attention of these abusive kings that God was not pleased with their injustice, corruption and penchant for murder or killings.

Therefore in line with the principle of the harmony of the Old Testament and New Testament scriptures we should realize that what Romans 13 means when it says that we should support the government is herein understood through proper context to refer to righteous government and not to abusive government because the prophets of God criticized all bad and evil governments of Israel during the respective prophets' ministry. And if we read the Old Testament, God Himself approved of and commended the prophets' criticisms against their bad government. And in numerous times, it is God Himself who commanded his holy prophets to criticize and warn these murderous and evil kings of Israel. It is high time now that pastors really study the Sacred Scriptures in context and in plain common sense so that they will not become spokesperson for a fascist regime that persecutes and oppresses its own people. It is really sad and scandalizing to see how so-called Christian shepherds of the flock becoming unwitting enablers of oppression in their midst by using twisted interpretations of the Scriptures to support an evil, murderous and idiotic regime that makes life hard and difficult for its citizens. These pastors should make sincere repentance to God and to their fellow humans for becoming supporters of a fascist regime that glorifies murder, oppression and wanton disregard for basic human rights of its very own citizens! All modern societies were built on the teachings of Sigmund Freud. Beliefs that are simply a means of viewing the world through his eyes. I assure you that you were not born thinking of yourself as an ego, or having an id or a super ego. These were things you learned, things that those in control built into our society as the 'correct' way to view your world.
With that in mind, I assure you that everything you just said is wrong. Your comment reads like that of a person who has recently gone through a great loss and is trying to make sense of it by viewing these events through rights and wrongs, self visualized heroism versus a villain. The generalizations you have implemented to view the world, everyone in it, your past and future may help you to ease your pain, but it will not help you to think your way through problems in the future, only to hide from them. You must learn to think your way through the complexities of life, to categorize the things in your life into more than dual categories. To shape your own mind by questioning everything.
This is not an external struggle you are dealing with, this is an internal one. Though I assure you, that it is caused by someone having a plan for the future, your future, and it has nothing to do with love. And they view your life as the one without purpose.
Don't fall for this fallacy, this simple view of the world they have given you. This false world. You must see it all, you must aspire to understand everything and how it's all connected together. As one doge equals one doge, love is love. Never forget that.

There were a couple of threads a few days ago about liberalism being a religion. Here's another piece that fits right in. Religions are extremely jealous. The liberal religion, represented by the protesters hates any competition. They say they're all about love, but then they attack the longest-running (though flawed, as all human affairs are) calls to brotherly love in human history. Liberals are really really confused people, and in their confusion are accelerating a form of religious tyranny as fast as I have ever seen in my lifetime.

18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

21 Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

Men that are demanding that their wives submit to them have not learned the right way to win them

The command was not 'submit to your husband, after he's engaged in some amount of effort which meets your satisfaction'.

Men should not even have to demand this, certainly not of a Christian wife. It should be expected, including by her community. The idea that he can only get submission if he 'wins' her is a reversal of the roles.

Women have a duty to their husbands as well as their family, and this needs to be emphasized. And it's not 'Make sure your husband stays on the righteous and Christian path, according to your own judgment!'
