Is there any reason why modern scum shouldn't be exterminated?

And what if I think you are one of the scum and I want you exterminated? Is that okay with you?
My method of extermination would be impalement.
FYI, this is one of my favorite movies.

I don't much care what you think. People are generally inert and do nothing.

If you didn't care what people think you wouldn't be here.

It appears that no one can find a reason not to exterminate modern scum.

So, like, all of the people?
The only problem is that you need to trust the exterminators to put bullets in their head when they're done exterminating. And you know those motherfuckers will probably renege.

Almost all people, those who don't reject modern culture.
I don't have to worry about the details since this just won't happen. My question is only for conversation.

I'm curious - do you consider yourself, personally, to be a member of "modern scum"?

No, I don't.

So you're old school scum, not the modern kind?

Doesn't the very fact that you're here, reading and posting on an Internet forum, make you a participant in modern culture?

No, technology isn't culture. I do interact with modern culture, like here on SaidIt, but that also doesn't make me part of it. I reject modern culture. I am Arkian.

I think you can make a pretty strong case that anyone who "interacts with" culture is a part of that culture. Culture has never been about people being in lockstep with each other and sharing the exact same hobbies, interests, fashions, etc.

Absolutely, you're correct. Culture is a complex and dynamic concept that encompasses a wide range of elements, and it is not confined to a single group of people or set of activities. It's a shared understanding and set of practices that members of a community use to interact with each other and the world around them.
When we talk about "interacting with" culture, it can mean many things. It can be as simple as consuming cultural artifacts like music, movies, or literature, or as complex as actively participating in cultural practices, rituals, and traditions.
Moreover, culture is not static but evolves over time. It's influenced by interactions with other cultures, personal experiences, and societal changes. Therefore, anyone who engages with culture, in any way, is indeed part of that culture.
This perspective allows us to appreciate cultural diversity and the richness it brings to our world. It also underscores the importance of respect and understanding in intercultural interactions, as everyone contributes to the culture in their own unique way.

I interact with modern scum without sharing their understandings and practices, so I am not modern scum.

Is a farmer who interacts with farm animals a farm animal himself? I am not talking about being in lockstep, I am pretty much the opposite of modern scum.

I don't think the reason we're on the same farm is that you're raising me to eat. I'm pretty sure we're doing exactly the same thing in this field here.
