Nine years.

I'm a Gen-Xer. I grew up with PCs. Phones are like PCs with tiny screens and no peripherals, and they spend all day going DING DING DING and annoying the shit out of you. Who the fuck wants that?

I suppose I'm getting them more often. As I look back, I had a Motorola for 6 years in the 90s, an Ericsson T39 for approximately 12 years, until I got an iphone 6 plus, and 5 years later an iphone 11 pro, then 3 years later traded it in for an iphone 13 pro.

I remember buying my current phone about a week or 2 before the pandemic closed everything down. All computer stuff is fast enough now that I'll probably only replace it if it breaks or becomes unsupported, or if they can invent some new killer feature.

I used to upgrade fairly regularly until I realized that it was pretty pointless and the new phone was always pretty much the same as the old. I think Ive had this one 7 or 8 years....I dont rrally know.

It's one year old. I use phones with physical buttons but most of the modern ones suck so it took a while to find a good one. I've got a BlackBerry Key2, if you're interested.

Keyboard phones rock! I want to get Blackberry too but they're so expensive right now.

Key2 Limited Edition, has a very acceptable price, especially second hand.

And if you don't need Android, I actually recommend the Passport or Classic. Although it should be noted that you'll have to communicate via text and calling. Even Whatsapp isn't supported by those devices as of last October.

Yeah, just not where I live.

Too bad. Well, you have class for wanting one. There are Chinese Uniherz knockoffs which many prefer for the more recent Android version, but the keyboard isn't nearly as good, you probably know that.

I can definitely understand where you're coming from. I'm not a big fan of [insert name of thing] either, but I can see why some people might enjoy it. I think it really depends on your personal preferences and what you're looking for in a [insert name of thing]. For example, I'm not really into country music. I find it to be too twangy and repetitive. However, I know that there are a lot of people who love country music. They appreciate the storytelling aspect of it and the way that it can make them feel. So, while I may not be a fan of [insert name of thing], I can still respect the fact that other people might enjoy it. I think it's important to be open-minded and to try new things. You never know, you might just find something that you really like. But, at the end of the day, it's up to you to decide what you like and don't like. There's no right or wrong answer. Just go with what feels right for you.

Current one for three years because I was moving and had to get a new one for the area. It's a cheap piece of shit Samsung Galaxy with 32 GB that I got for free with a two year plan. $100 a month for this bullshit - $65 phone, $35 internet - but a phone is almost mandatory here in the Asian country I live in even though I rarely ever use it beyond work and the occasional YouTube video.

Previous phone I had for five years and I got it while still living in the US and it was a Google Pixel XL with a red case. I got it for like, $130 used, at the time with a $32 a month plan.

I'm not much of a phone person being a 'Millennial,' as I didn't even own a smartphone until 2012, which was a Virgin Mobile Blackberry 8530 Curve, which was considered a piece of shit even back then. It was only like $20 though, so I was fine with it!

NA. I have never owned a cell phone. I currently do not posses a lan line.

My phone is currently only 5 months old. My last phone's screen was cracked and buying a new phone made more sense than the repair.

I will definitely use a phone for years though, especially these days the benefit from an upgrade is a lot more minimal than it used to be.

Got my OnePlus 6T in 2018, still works like a charm.
