The satanic temple has better ethics:

There are Seven FUNDAMENTAL TENETS

I One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

II The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

III One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

IV The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

V Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

VI People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

VII Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

That's literally Jesus except for maybe #3. What has the world come to when actual satanists are closer to him than so-called Christians.

No religion is #7. Thinking about it is the opposite of religion. They do prescribed ethics, and follow rules, whatever the effect is. We think better to act better.

Christianity is not II, because they follow prescribe moral laws, not the deeper ideal of justice. Christianity is not IV, because they being offended is the source of their persecution of other, that is key to their place in the world. Christianity is not V, because they reject science and evidence if it conflicts with their beliefs. Christianity is not VI, they have externalised blame. When they do something wrong they don't have to rectify it, they just need to ask their imaginary friend for forgiveness, which is always given.

I know how Christians act today (fleshly). I said Jesus taught similar ethics. Christians would be the Pharisees who turned on him because he didn't let them take over the world, and criticized their corrupt teachings and temples and hypocrisy. They were so proud to be so much better than those pagan sinners, that it turned out for that very reason they were actually even worse. They were also horrified at the notion of goyim sharing in their blessings. Sound familiar?

“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" isn't very supportive of thinking for yourself.

Only if you read the corrupt orthodox interpretation into it. It works just as well as a path to what some would call "enlightenment".

You do get to a point where you trust him 100%. But you get there in the first place because it becomes evident that he's never wrong and doesn't lie.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are the last books the church wants you reading. They want you to read their fake letters from Paul, Peter, James, Jude, and John, which they wrote to counter the authentic books. The authentic books themselves have also been heavily edited and added to. In the 2nd century Luke was missing the first whole 3.5 chapters. The church covered this one up by claiming Marcion wrote the shorter variant by cutting out material, even though Marcionites used various different gospels (some resemble Mark, Luke, or John). Matthew was significantly shorter and different (which is why academics see a missing "Q" source), and evidently John also. And don't even get me started on Paul. It is entirely evident based on the structure and style that a huge percentage of his letters is actually interpolations, especially in the really long ones Romans and 1 Corinthians (which explains why they're way longer than letters were in that culture). And yes I mean in the real ones, not even counting the complete forgeries. Expansion isn't always a bad thing and it was the norm back then, but there are some things that were obviously added by the church or some other sect with an agenda.

Still, the whole point of Satanism is to counter Christianity, even if they don't actually worship the satan archon.
