Thanks for this - though some notes on PragerU:

Some of their videos are not suitable for kids because of the misinformation and disinformation in that group of videos. (One can post misinformation and disinformation on Saidit.)

The problem with the restricted videos is not the sexual or violent content, but because of misinformation and disinformation.

There has been political content in many of the restricted videos. The lawyer's claim that this isn't true is false.

This is the lawyer's way of developing an argument. It is an argument; it's rhetorical, not devoted to facts.

PragerU is definitely NOT "as mainstreet as you can get". It's not even center-right. It's fully right-wing. There is nothing centrist about PragerU, though they naturally want viewers to think there is, as a way of getting them to agree with the most of the video, while not realizing they're also - in the process - starting to think in terms of the extreme right-wing disinformation that is subversively threaded into the video.

The Decency Act of 1996 took the place of important FCC regulations (Fairness Doctrine) that previously prohibited propaganda in FCC regulated news media. Since 1996 - news and edutainment media companies like PragerU and Fox have had the right to distribute propaganda, misinformation and disinformation, without legal recourse. They're been allowed to lie to people, and lie about people, claiming that thier own opinions are facts (which they're not). This is abusive and subversive.

Fuck PragerU. They are right-wing influencers of the worst kind, because they are able to distribute disinformation in a manner that looks like normal documentaries. [edit: corrected spelling]

So you don't have a problem with "misinformation/disinformation" or blatant state sponsored propaganda coming from mainstream media outlets? This is yet another reason why you come off as a shill. Because you are so one sided. Look up the Smith Mundt Act and then tell us all about the horrors of "Mis and Disinformation."

[–]Node 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (20 children)

PragerU is ... fully right-wing.

Socks is so far to the left that he sees anyone who isn't a foaming-at-the-mouth rabid communist as right wing. It's bizarre. They tried to characterize Trump as right wing too... How do you even talk to someone so deluded.

[–]JasonCarswell 6 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

He pretends to be left. He's authoritarian.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 4 fun2 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

He pretends to be left. He's authoritarian a whore-a-tarian.

Wrong, Jason, as usual.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Denying it doesn't help your case. Your verbose shilling speak volumes of confirmation.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

FFS, Jason, WTF is your problem?

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Seriously? How many times do I have to say: You are shilling for the enemy: the exploitative establishment and their vaccine poisons.

Look at my posts today. Learn something.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I've seen Trump legitimately characterized in a number of ways on both Fox news and CNN. He is a sock puppet, a moldable poop, like a poop-play-doh human. Obama felt similar, he was like a Muslim/Christian/Jew, all depending on the day and the pulpit.

[–]wristaction 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The actual point of fact being that he was as disinterested in religion as anyone else. That was the real substance underlying the scandal with Rev. Wright. Obama only attended services there because he was, at the time, running against an actual Black Panther who he recognized he was too white-presenting to compete with. I totally believe that he didn't recognize the quotes from the sermons. He was only putting in his time there and he'd heard worse from his white and jewish colleagues in academia.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 4 insightful - 5 fun4 insightful - 4 fun5 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

Socks is so far to the left that he sees anyone who isn't a foaming-at-the-mouth as right wing.

I doubt socks has any political affiliation, or moral compass.

For money; socks will get on his knees and smile like a doughnut.

[–]wristaction 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

He doesn't actually see it that way. He's just saying it's that way. A century ago, he'd be one of those who portrayed Trotsky as a deviationist crypto-fascist.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

The Trump crime family worked for the the "right-wing" (as well as others in the 1%, and Russian businessmen). It's been bloody obvious, to everyone. Where do you get your news, Node?

[–]Node 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (7 children)

I'm admittedly not a big believer in the official political definitions. You really see the "13 families who own the world" as right wing?

Or choose your own beliefs about who is actually calling the shots on this planet. What specifically about them would you say makes them 'right wing'?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

I am referring to trends in Republican policy that have benefitted the 1% at the expense of the 99%. It's not complicated, and there are numerous examples. The 13 people you mention aren't specifically at issue, though some of them may be. Income inequality is a major part of the problem. I see what's happening the same way you do. That's why I've asked: where do you get your news? It's a serious question. So many users on Saidit believe propaganda websites without questioning the sources of information or the purposes of the websites, or how they are funded. The news media bias that worries me is at the far right of the bias scale, and they have had the biggest impact on the polarization of the discourse so that voters will see authoritarian Republicans as their ideal candidates, by contrast with Democrat candidates who actively try to help the 99%. I appreciate that Republicans will claim that their approaches are best for the 99%, but look at how that's worked since 1984. Put simply: Republicans have screwed the 99% far more than the Democrats, for numerous reasons. Republicans have promised trickle-down economics, for example, which never worked. In fact, quite the opposite. Voting Republican is voting for socialism for the rich. There are many on Saidit who seem not to understand this, and sometimes I think it's because they're duped by disinformation and misinformation websites. Long ago I did support Republican policies (1980-84), but not thereafter. I am also highly critical of 'neo-liberalism' under Clinton and Obama, which has been problematic for much of the 99%. But I still don't understand some aspects of Saidit and why so many here support Republicans and the propaganda that supports them. Hence: where do you get your news, Node?

Think Bob, did I say that I had a:

problem with "misinformation/disinformation" ...coming from mainstream media outlets

This is yet another reason why you come off as a shill.

Read the post, Bob.

Because you are so one sided.

Do you understand nothing about what I wrote? My concern is with misinformation and disinformation, obviously. And my concern is with right-wing misinformation and disinformation. This is not unusual. You don't have to be a shill to say such things. If you don't agree, note what you don't agree with. Your attempt to understand me isn't important here. Address the issues in the thread.

Look up the Smith Mundt Act and then tell us all about the horrors of "Mis and Disinformation."

If you have something to say about the Act, or about anything of substance, say it. If you're only interested in judging people, go fuck yourself.

[–]RightousBob 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

Whoa looks like I hit a nerve! The way you replied is making me think you might be a gpt3 bot of some sort. You sure don't express yourself like a human.

"Your attempt to understand me isn't important here."

Why is that sux? Why won't you help me understand you? Is it because there is no 'you?'

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

PragerU is a jew propaganda outlet

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (10 children)

Interesting.

Having read about the founders just now, I see that they're Jewish, though it's apparent that their main target audience is conservative Christians, among others I think they try to pull from the 'center' to the r'ight'. They made $18.6 million in 2018 as a "non-profit" and spent $13 million of that, perhaps much of it on their 44 employees. Seems they're not really non-profit. [edit: spelling correction]

Yes propaganda and subversion

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (8 children)

Typical corporate media. If you weren't pretending to be dumb you'd acknowledge that there are larger Zionist forces at work than just the tribalist political theater that attempts to manipulate everyone from all perspectives for full spectrum dominance.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Yes - and for the 100th time - there are serious manipulations by both political parties and the 1%, but one has to try everything possible to engage the few people in the 1% who might be able to help the 99%. The 'throw the baby out with the bathwater' approach has been tried - in France, Russia, China, Germany &c - but the 'American Experiment' does not have to end like that (even if it might). Yes, support other parties, but not to the extent that they take votes away from those who could be helpful to the 99%, even if not ideal candidates.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

There is 0% worth trying to fix in the Democrats or Republicans - they will NEVER help the 99%. EVER.

You daftly think you don't live under an open prison tyranny for some naive reason.

There is no baby. There is no bathwater. There are no spoilers (it's already spoiled beyond rotten). There's only the corporatocracy's tyranny.

Time to throw it out, give up on your overlords, and join the resistance.

Quit shilling for the enemies of humanity.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

OK - let's return to the brainwashed notion that your 3rd and 4th party support will have any impact. Hopefully they will in certain districts. But nothing is that simple. And stop with your usual accusations and name-calling. It's fucking infantile. Make something of yourself, Jason, and cut the crap.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

You're never going to get anything from the establishment and their duopoly.

3rd and 4th parties won't ever get a foothold much less a toehold - BUT you'll have an option and a platform to reach out with alternatives and solutions. That's the ONLY reason I'm even considering listening to my local Green Party friends trying to convince me to run.

I'll cut the crap when you quit shilling for the enemy and realize you're on the wrong team.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

At least there are 3 Green Party members in the Canada House of Commons. You should run, as soon as you break the habit of calling people shills, and considering nearly everyone in politics baddies.

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

If anywhere, all/our government is the place to call out shills. The problem there is that it's the big leagues and you need to know your shit. I know more about US politics, and not close to as much as I should, combined. Then again, neither do they - beyond where their money comes from. But I have a different weapon: I know the entire system is rigged and can call pretty much anything corrupt and be correct.

Further, I'm anti-scamdemic, anti-climate change scam, anti-wars, and anti-government so I'm not the ideal Green Party candidate - or maybe I'm the bestest evar.

I wouldn't have a chance of winning in Windsor, but besides having a stump to rant from I could help the GP get their shit together, draft a few manifestos, etc. and even animate some serious grass roots campaigns and such.

I have a 3 pronged proposal for all 3rd parties: Focus on you local campaign, your regional campaigns, and the national campaigns. Windsor won't win, but maybe somewhere close like Guelph might even have a chance so we would need to help them get a foothold in Ontario. Nationally we'd help British Columbia and the maritime provinces gain more traction and more footholds.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

If they are not ideal, they are not worthy candidates. They are corruptible, or, already corrupted and are playing a role. I don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I want to get someone in there who has nothing to do with any of the corruption. People need to vote third party. Frolicking with the devil never works, why do you think joining his ranks will give you the means to deal with the corruption? The establishment will not fix itself. New power centers have to be built, using the knowledge and skills that we have. Third party or no party. That whole nonsense of "a vote for the third party is throwing away a vote" is a lie told by shills.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, ideally. Practically, however, the 3rd party sometimes cannot win. You still have to consider the best alternative. If you don't vote, prople like Trump win. Yes, support the 3rd party, but don't forget the importance of strategic voting.

[–]wristaction 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

PragerU is definitely NOT "as mainstreet as you can get". It's not even center-right. It's fully right-wing.

Fucking lol! Socks, you're too much.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

Some of their videos are not suitable for kids because of the misinformation and disinformation in that group of videos.

Can someone create a bot that chimes in whenever socks-bot brings up his "misinformation and disinformation" trope against whatever group he's being paid to oppose.

Something like:

socks-is-a-shill bot PSA: socks is a purveyor of low-budget misinformation and "disinforamtion".

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

As usual - Tom - nothing new or relevant from you.

If you've got something to contribute, don't be so shy.

You know the old saying?: It's better for people to think you're an idiot, than to speak and prove your idiot.

In your case, don't worry about it: just try to offer an argument. Any argument.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

You know the old saying?: It's better for people to think you're an idiot, than to speak and prove your idiot.

I've never heard that. Is this more of your clever "disinforamtion"?

I've heard this quote from Mark Twain:

It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Once again, you're the joke that writes itself. Keep 'em coming.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Good - so you have heard one version of it. Someday you'll go far, Tom, and hopefully you'll stay there.

[–]neovulcan[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

misinformation and disinformation.

Can you please link me to a couple? I haven't watched even half of the videos but none of the ones I've seen came remotely close to misinformation or disinformation.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

Yes - the banned videos are easy to see here:

https://www.prageru.com/playlist/restricted-by-youtube/

I am not sure which two of those videos I'd select first. All of them are pushing an extreme right-wing agenda with misinformation or disinformation.

For example:

"The Inconvenient Truth About the Democratic Party"

or

"Playing the Black Card"

These are often defended as opinion, but they are also presented as fact. They're subversive, to put it politely, and unfounded propaganda, to put it another way, and meant to influence people into think voting for right-wing candidates, and to go to church, and to think contemporary democrats are racists, and often to anger people about the 'other'. They're not based on facts.

[–]neovulcan[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Oh man, it's no wonder these got restricted on YouTube. The Democrats couldn't sue because they'd lose in court, but it's always possible to get facts restricted. So far loving "Why I Left The Left" and "The Inconvenient Truth About The Democratic Party"

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Happy to help (I guess, lol)
