I'll be here for the foreseeable future but if you dissect recent event, there is fuckery afoot and a lot of conflating regular users who aren't that controversial with smear campaigns from trolls who want to discredit the site and its userbase. I think M7 needs a better perspective on things and a more balanced approach to moderation(as in apply the rules evenly for every user and stop fabricating accusations when he has no concrete evidence of wrongdoing). If he was honest with himself and his users, he would address these issues and be receptive to his users' input instead of unilaterally dropping the banhammer on those few that have irked him.

I'm grateful to him for providing this space but it's only as good as the regular contributors that post quality content. Without them, it's just pills and tech spam. That's why I'll stand idle in the meantime while this crap gets sorted out(if ever). Think of it as a silent, peaceful way of protesting.

I dunno. He seems irked by your suggestions but I disagree with the accusations he's levelled against you. I don't understand his reluctance and lack of receptivity to your ideas/feedback while he'd rather defame you on this forum with frivolous claims or minor violations(It's somewhat petty). I guess he's annoyed with the triple(quadruple?) postings. But saying you're encouraging trolls and shills by taking a non-censorship approach to comments posted is a bit of a stretch.

It is a double-edged sword; it's not free speech when comments get deleted but paradoxically some "speech" could bring unwanted attention which I assume M7 has concerns about. I'd say let sleeping dogs lie. There aren't many alternatives right now and starting your own platform would be a bit of an undertaking. Not impossible though but you'd need coders, a "neutral" web host and some money.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Feel free to pick it up and flick it on my forehead.

IKR? People that think for themselves instead of mindlessly repeating MSM propaganda are dangerous and the most selfish of people. They should be wearing that muzzle 24/7(proper breathing is overrated) along with a good dose of corporate media(it's on the TV therefore it is true) so they can be cured of their delusions and be transformed into obedient consumers hoping for a vaccine that isn't really a vaccine and won't protect you from getting infected by a virus with a 99.6% recovery rate. Selfish and ignorant indeed.

Civil disobedience is an effective, non-violent way of voicing one's discontent. But I'm a pussy. The most I'll do is keep my mask under my nose(I get dizzy and anxious after two minutes of muzzle-wearing). A transit employee told me to cover my nose while I was on the train. I said I had a medical condition then the doors closed, fortunately(she was on the platform), and the train departed. I really wish I could get a medical exemption but doctors don't seem keen on giving one. I was told: "It's uncomfortable at first but you get used to it." and "Just wear a lighter mask if you're having difficulty breathing.". Isn't it a physician's oath to "do no harm"? After a few tries, on August 27, Evans pulled of his record-setting attempt: 16.65 seconds." I am nonplussed.

"You might've heard that all Intel i3/i5/i7 processors (that is, after the Intel Core 2 Duo) have an onboard alternate processor that is meant to function as spyware. This is called the Intel Management Engine. It can view your memory and connect to the internet: basically all modern computers have this permanent back door. In older computers, say the ThinkPad X200, you can, with a little hardware action, remove the other processor and replace the proprietary BIOS with Libreboot or Coreboot, but that is not possible on more modern computers (you can install Coreboot on a more modern machine, but not all of the components of the Management Engine are removed)." He makes a very valid point.

Emotional support pet. That is sound advice. The litter box is always an issue but if you empty it daily, should be less of an issue. Although when my cat would go for number two, I had to crack a window open as the smell was quite overpowering. But overall, cats are pretty clean animals.

My OCD isn't that bad aside from the compulsive hand-washing, obsessive thoughts and triple checking if the door is locked. It does fuel my anxiety a bit. Psychology is still an emerging scientific field and there's not much empirical data to support some of the theories. Although cognitive therapy can provide one with coping mechanisms I think cats are better IMHO.

I wish I could get a cat but pets aren't allowed in the building I live in. Even if they were, there would be no room for the litter box. Sigh. I like watching Flatbush Cats on YT where they rescue strays and have them adopted afterwards.

As for the meds, it's hard to tell. I've been on them for so long that I lack perspective as I don't know what my normal self should feel like. They were great at first. Made me feel fuzzy and warm but now all I notice are the side effects and I'm getting more and more OCD and that drives my anxiety up. The reason I keep taking them is that I feel like absolute shit when I stop taking them.

They are not a substitute for healthy living. The solution is simple: cut sugar, minimize caffeine intake, avoid nicotine and alcohol, get sufficient sleep and exercize regularly. All things I should do but don't.

I'm skeptical about SSRIs as well considering you're playing Russian roulette with your brain chemistry and placebos have been shown to be as effective.

Hope you feel better soon. I'm a 6 on the feeling scale. I'm on paroxetine, mirtazapine and pantoprazole for anxiety/depression, sleep apnea and acid reflux. Daily drinking damaged my oesophagus. Paroxetine makes me sweat like a pig but quitting is a bitch. Mirtazapine makes me binge on junk food(I have the gut to show for it). Quitting those would require a dramatic lifestyle change which, given the current state of affairs, I'm not eager to do. For what it's worth, at least rejoice in the fact that we're still alive. You have a wife and a cool cat too. I miss having a cat. They're quite therapeutic. Even though I'd have a bad day at work, my cat would wait for me and greet me when I came back home and insist on cuddles. Then all those negative feelings would just vanish. That's enough ranting for now. Godspeed Muskie!

My mom bought me this board game at a flea market when I was a eight. Although I never got to play against anyone, I did learn the rules of the game. It did shape my views on capitalism and free market enterprise and how an unregulated market stifles competition. Which is why I think libertarianism while championing individual rights, should mandate tighter corporate regulations as to prevent corporations from amalgamating themselves into monopolies or oligopolies leading to price-fixing and having a stranglehold in a sector of a market. And libertarians should also forget corporate bailouts since they prone as little governmental intervention as possible. I believe in free enterprise but I also believe in socialism(not communism, I believe in the right to property). I mean socialism as in socialized healthcare, housing and essential services pertaining to basic necessities albeit with less overhead and more efficiency. But I digress. Human greed has always and always will be the destroyer of wishful thinking and equitable socio-economical systems. If you made it through this rant, my apologies.
