I don't recall what it was, but it was a story wherein the main character bought a boat to mess around with in his "fuck you all, you can't fire me because I quit" retirement, and another boat owner semi-jokingly told him that a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into.

I had a coworker that got a boat to live on and cruise around occasionally. I think he paid $40k for it originally. One thing went wrong after another. He probably paid another $80k in repairs the first year of ownership. Sold it after a year and a half. Funny thing was I told him the joke about the two happiest days in the life of a boat owner when he told us he was getting it. When he sold it he said it was no joke. It was very true. 😂
