IQ doesn't save the day and it can only predict a certain talent for math and sciences. IQ doesn't make you immune to manipulation and/or irrational beliefs. Two of the most absurd religions on Earth: Judaism and Christianity are the creations of highly intelligent populations. The Jews have their chances to "hellenise" themselves, but instead they preferred to worship their desert God, and then the Romans fell into a worse trap.

Also IQ doesn't predict if you are a man of honor or if there's a glimpse of morality in you.
