It's unsurprisingly hilarious; the 3 heads of the committee who are causing everyone else to quit are (actual) women (2 of whom are theythems), who are on power trips. Once again the TTQQIAAP2Ses take all the hard work the LGBs did and throw it in the sewer for their narcissism.

It's time for the alphabet to split up. Yeah, I've met trans and enby people who are pretty cool on an individual level, but there are too many differences between us to be considered "community." And to be frank a lot of the lesbians (many of whom are they/thems) and the gay men always have this unspoken, simmering resentment between them anyway, so why bother trying to keep everyone together.

That's some hard truth, right there.

Yeah, and I do try to mean this in as much of a "no hard feelings" way as possible. I don't like to make people feel like uncomfortable outsiders, nor do I like to feel that way. But if there has to be this much engineering of people's social and romantic lives, it makes you wonder who, if anyone, really benefits. Everything is a power struggle, and the only thing that weirds me out more than that is the absolute shit fit people throw when others try to go off and do their own thing. You are instead supposed to be present and submissive to their needs, and going through this ritualized process of acknowledging your privilege/complicity in oppression. I just honestly don't have time for that, especially after the lockdown. I have my own life to live.

One example I can think of is Michigan Women's Fest. Not my thing, and it doesn't sound like anything I'd enjoy if I had the opportunity to go. There were people who, instead of saying "well, let's do our own thing," made a point of going every year to just camp outside. Why? Why not just create your own event, and see who goes to that? Instead, there was tirade after tirade about, the, uh....evil women who wanted to go sleep in a field and wouldn't let you go along.

By all means, let people do a Themfest or something like it. Regardless of how I feel, there are a lot of people who do seem to identify with it. I just don't think it's appropriate to draw everyone else in with it. I would say there are a lot of unchecked control issues and insecurities within The Acronym, which I fear will prevent this sort of needed change.

The change is eventually going to come. People can only be polite for so long before they've had enough. The thems aren't going to like it when they discover that people no longer want to play along with their BS.

What even are the 'Qs'? I understand what L, G, B, and T are, but what the heck is a 'queer' then in their newspeak if it isn't one of those four things?

I don't have a dog in any of this fight, but I think they kinda mean "weird, but in a pervy way" when they say it. In reality, I suspect it's a catchall to mean the person in question is an aggressive tumblrgendered retard.

Queer, obviously.. LGBTQ is lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer.

Yes, I know that obviously, I'm saying I don't know what 'queer' even means. It used to mean 'gay', but the 'G' seems to have that covered. If 'queer' people aren't 'gay', 'lesbian', 'bi' or 'trans', than wtf does it mean? Supposedly something different if they get their own letter, I just don't understand what exactly this means

If you ask them, they'll tell you it doesn't mean "queer" anymore, but "questioning." However, largely it seems people who use queer are saying they are polyamorous.

I see, hadn't heard this. It sounds like the alphabet people really don't know what it stands for either, lol

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember the word queer being used as synonymous with "odd"..

If you encountered something that seemed weird or strange or odd, you might say "oh, that is queer".

Obviously, the meaning has morphed into meaning homosexual.

Yes, I agree, it did originally mean odd, and it did morph into meaning homosexual, but that was decades ago, before LGBTQ was a thing. I am saying now, it has clearly morphed again as it seems to mean something different than "homosexual" as the L, G, and B have all flavors of that covered, yet we still added a 'Q' implying it now means something new, apart from homosexual, that I do not know the definition of.

Considering that, I would have to guess that the lgbT is playing musical chairs..

Anyone that doesn't choose to fit into either the L or G or B or T is banished to being the odd man or the queer.

That's my best guess.

Queer, I assume, comes from queer theory. One of those critical theory academic studies. It aims to transgress against norms, 'queering' everything and everyone. It's political.

Anyway anyone calling themselves queer is usually just a spicy straight. So a woman who made out with a chick at a party or something once but needs the clout.

Yeah that seems like a reasonable assumption, I suspect it is something like that, a special 'other' category
