Unfortunately, a person's brain still works for a bit even after their heart stops beating.

For the benefit of those reading, I say: All people continue to think, even if the heart stops beating and the brain dies. Even with no flesh at all, a soul continues to think and to be aware it exists, for ever. Many people pass from this life to the next and are shocked to continue thinking, and yet they have no strength, are weak and unable to do anything, because they did not acquire for themselves spiritual strength during this life.

How to acquire for yourselves riches for the spiritual life, so you may have strength: Perform kind deeds for your fellow man. Keep the Royal Law, as taught by God: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I mean you don't pass away the second your heart stops beating. So even a "dead" person could still feel being harvested.

Keep the Royal Law, as taught by God

You know nothing about the New Testament if you think it's all about law. It's almost entirely against it. Actually a lot of the Old Testament has that hidden meaning as well.
