You can't just leave your beliefs "behind" you.
You got to find them - first and foremost - to make them actually your own.
After that, there are always situations in everyday life where you can only cling to them. Everything else can be taken from you. This is the millenia-old "problem" of what ownership actually is.
That is why it is so important to actually own at least some beliefs or spirituality.
Anyone considering opposing or contradicting this should look at the part in the human brain that is exclusively occupied with our belief-systems beforehand.
