Aaron was mentally unstable if I recall correctly, like many of us. I doubt he could handle prison.

I don't understand why people are so terrified of prison or jail. It sucks but it's not worth dying over.

If that happened to me I would probably kill myself too. I can barely tolerate life as it is because my mind is so messed up.
