The Japanese knew that in the USA there was a rifle behind every tree. They would hit California first. I would like to see the PLA navigate the bay area or LA and then make it over the mountains and the high dessert before they were wiped out by rednecks.

They would nuke first, and move in to the ashen rubble second.

There's no way you'd invade a nuclear-armed enemy without neutralising the counterstrike first.
