I've watched all of the media that I use to love turn to shit in the last decade. Myspace was great, for a time. Facebook was too. Digg. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Colbert. Chapelle. JRE. YouTube. Reddit. They all got mainstreamed (or ceased to exist altogether) and they all lost their edge.

How much power does SaidIt have over you? Little to none.

How much power does the corporatocracy hole over you? Banks, media, government, justice, health, food, etc... Full spectrum dominance. They have think tanks, NGOs, TRILLION$ to spend maintaining their dominance by any and all means necessary - including their mafia monopoly on violence.

If it was simple the sheeple would wake up from their alternate universe too - yet some of my neighbours are simple and knew before I even started talking to them about it.

Sure there's crap on SaidIt, but you don't need to mine hard to find the gold here.

As I've mentioned many times at Saidit, many of the users here who like the spread of disinformation and misinformation that this site allows are themselves supporting the 1%, by spreading the disinformation the 1% pays for. Why do they sponsor disinformation? To distract and anger the 99% into arguing with themselves regarding facts, science &c, which is working at Saidit. How does this work? These people who believe in the disinformation are more likely to vote for criminals like Trump, McConnell, Paul, Sinema, Manchen, Collins, and others when the receive millions from special intereest PACs, individuals, and corporations in order to vote on deregulation, tax cuts, and other arrangements that drive up the debt for the 99% to pay, while the 1% reap rhe rewards.
