This was a hard pill to swallow for an "objectivist". But the reality was that I was operating under a subjective reality that simply set the stage for what I should believe in.
Some subjective realities and moral stances are better than others and humanity as a whole benefits more from some than others.
But it's all completely subjective.
Want to make it illegal for a man and a woman to marry and have kids? Sure. Ok, but you're not gonna go past a single generation if everyone follows the rules.
Wanna make it so women + men are meant to marry and create an environment that makes producing kids relatively straightforward? (Gender roles, etc) you will probably make it further than the previous one.
A successful system has to both cater to certain natural instincts(procreation, freedom(to an extent)) and at the same time minimize others(tribalism, overt violence). Christianity has done this better than any other system so far. But as the church became less of a thing we all became way too atomized and allowed other forces to divide us further and further. America's individualistic freedom stance is too fragile to be taken for granted. Is it easier to infiltrate a country of diverse individuals like the US or a monolith like the CCP?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
