That's a fantastic example. McDonalds, our supreme cultural cuisine, is not artistic like Japanese food or...I don't even know what you'd call it...needlessly complex like French cuisine, and thus it gets a lot of shame. Hurrdurr, dumb Americans eating burgers. But in reality the R&D lab of McDonalds is basically the most advanced food science lab in the world. They've created food that's inexpensive and good-tasting, and within reasonable portions, actually nutritionally decent. And by the way, for all the mockery, I've personally witnessed teens and adults in all corners of Europe crowded into McDonalds to get their taste of 'inferior American culture'.
