You should check out Paul Vander Klay for an explanation.
Or you could "check out" the actual source of the observation that the "Decline of God" will lead man to create his own meaning. It was Nietzsche, by the way. Not Mr. Klay.
And if Mr. Klay is characterizing all non-religious groups as "cults", then Mr. Klay is not a thinker, but rather a folk leader for evangelical Christians.

Yeah and Nietzsche wasn't saying this in a positive way. He was just ahead of the curve on cancerous woke culture. Don't bother looking into it - stay in your cult. It will be easier on you when you don't see it coming.
