Was saving them worth destroying our economy over?

I couldn't agree more.

They've each lost their individual rights, which is a crime. They deserve the right to choose their own path, without coersion.

We've been slowly conditioned into the false notion that group rights are to be prioritized over individual rights.

It's a fraud.

The reality is it's "individual rights" or "group rights", which is literally no individual rights at all.

The group's needs will always change, so the rules will also change when it's convenient; regardless of the outcome for you.

Group rights means they get to pick for you when the outcome for you is undesirable.

My friend, I wish you and your family the best of fortune in these tough times, and in the days to come.

You and your father are heroes.

Not the heroes we deserve but the heroes we need.

I salute you and your service for speaking truth to tyranny and standing up for what it means to live in the US of Goddamn America.

Trump needs to give you the Purple Star. People like you are why we have Freedom.

The death rate is under 1%. Even Fauci has admitted such.

AN INVESTIGATION MUST HAPPEN

Thank you! Speaking of Fauci needing to be investigated, there is a new book out about him: https://i.redd.it/xvm3ioi01ur41.jpg and according to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Fauci is going to make BILLIONS on the Coronavirus vaccine: https://player.captivate.fm/episode/06406000-ab35-468d-89dc-32f84141d276

Thanks. I don't know what to think about the virus itself, but I do know that the way the government handled it was to give away a lot of money to the rich (everyone else got a tiny spiff, too), devalue the purchase power of the money we do have by running the printing presses, close down small businesses for good (further empowering the oligarchies)... now it looks like forced vaccines are coming, which is a giant give away to Big Pharma.... It all stinks of corruption at every level. And my poor dad is suffering tremendously in a facility that is grossly understaffed and cannot take care of someone so needy. He is the victim of their political power games.

doesnt matter. I work in healthcare and if you come in with a cough you are automatically diagnose positive without a test. also, if you die inside the hospital right now- regardless of why. Automatic cause of death COID19. which is fucked up because most life insurance policies have a pandemic clause in them if you die during a pandemic and your cause of death is that, they aren't obligated to pay you shit.

      how convenient.

it really is the largest, most costly failed human experiment in history. shut down the planet for something that happens every single year- you just label it something new and expect people to believe what you say. 100% bullshit

sad thing is the sheeple are falling in line believing this crap You tell the same lie long enough, and people begin to believe it, and for the past 2 months this has been embedded in everyone heads like clockwork, even the fucking commercials now has it. I am so glad i dont have cable and just stream they cant even stick to a straight story- first masks off, now masks on.. now its tigers, and feet, and second wave OH MY! how convenient that they are saying its coming back in October.. ironically in flu season. guess the flu count will be little to none next year

Is this for real? So this "pandemic" is a giant scam for the life insurance companies, too???????

i am not saying that. but it is a nice damn incentive to initiate their bottom line that noone reads when they sign.

So to clarify... my dad's pains and other symptoms are the same in the convalescent home as they were in the assisted living facility. The issue that we are most concerned with in the convalescent home is that he cannot get him out of bed himself and they refuse to get him out of bed. This will lead to bed sores and muscle atrophy. They won't even get him up to go over to his window so he can wave at the family members standing outside the window, which has him very depressed. We also doubt he is getting his diapers changed frequently enough to prevent diaper rash. There are other issues, too, but those are our biggest concerns.

No. They refuse to let him out until he tests negative... and they refuse to test him.

He does have a phone, and we talk to him multiple times a day. Escaping isn't possible... he can't get out of bed by himself. He can't walk anymore, and they didn't give him a wheelchair, so he can't get himself out. We are not allowed in. My sister and brother-in-law have gone over there twice to try to see him. No getting in the door, no talking to him through the (closed) window. I keep calling the facility and begging them to test him. The only decision maker about who gets the test refuses to talk to me, and every time I ask if there is someone else to talk to, they send me on a loop of transferring me from one person to another that all say they can't help me.

He 100% has been imprisoned. And I am certain that -- assuming he had it and it wasn't a false positives -- he is beyond the incubation period. And since he was a-sympotmatic, it is quite possible it was a false positive.

People's lives are more important than economy IMO. Capitalism has to be on hold. Now for whether they want to die, I guess they don't have an option for euthanasia? Your dad saying he is in pain and wants to die, can't you slip some drug in his IV? Tough decision. Sounds like the gf wants to live. Tough decisions but yeah need to save lives. My old boss died from this recently, his wife is devastated.

Many argue that we aren't actually saving lives with this shut down, just trading one group of people's lives for another. Poverty is the biggest killer of all, and now millions more people are being thrown into poverty because a lot of businesses that were shuttered will never re-open. Many people lost health insurance and can no longer go to the doctor to be diagnosed/treated timely to prevent a devastating illness. Many people who are currently sick with a disease, such as cancer, that could be cured if caught early enough won't get it caught early because basic physicals aren't being allowed anymore. I do not believe for a minute that we are saving lives for the long haul.

Oh and don't forget the 4th industrial revolution (4IR) conference. Puting two and two together tells me this was well planned and drafted as a PsyOp to make billions of dollars in profit for a small sect of rich elitists.

I don't think anyone has died due to the economy being down. You have mentioned some but any proof? If someone has a life threatening illness that is still considered essential to treat. Elective surgeries are postponed. They did the stimulus and unemployment so people don't starve due to bad economy. This virus really is pretty bad, it is killing thousands. I do agree the shut down can't last forever, and the idea is to slow it down so not as many have it at the hospitals at the same time which overwhelm the doctors.

What is essential in the economy? Doctors, cops, firemen etc. Food. Pharmacies. Not much else.

Movie theaters gotta be shut down. Frivolous stuff. The workers there, give them some sort of stimulus money, unemployment etc till this is done. Now if and when repubs refuse to keep giving out those checks, then we have problems. Looting in the streets. The lockdown having to end too soon. Millions dying rather than just thousands. I don't know what the future holds but I hope that's not it.

What I was trying to say is that I believe ultimately more people will die as a result of this than are saved now: all the examples I used are of how not being able to access "non-essential" health care now and/or have money to access health care in the future as causing health problems that would not have existed had the lock-down not happened.

There are only a few hotspots in the country where the virus is a big problem. They shouldn't be locking up people in areas that are not susceptible to outbreaks; sure measures like banning large gatherings and quarantining the "at risk" should be in place, but not locking down everyone indefinitely. According to Bill Gates, the plan is to keep everyone locked up indefinitely until a vaccine is out: https://off-guardian.org/2020/04/04/did-bill-gates-just-reveal-the-reason-behind-the-lock-downs/

what if it's not so prevalent in other places cuz the lockdown there is working

                [–]coffee_addict[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I don't believe that to be true for many reasons. First and foremost, weather seems to be a factor, so cities that don't have the right weather are unlikely to have a massive outbreak: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/22/health/warm-weather-coronavirus.html

Sweden they didn't lock down and they have a death toll % similar to the US? https://dcwhispers.com/report-sweden-ignored-coronavirus-fears-kept-economy-open-yet-has-a-mortality-rate-similar-to-americas/

South Dakota didn't lock down and isn't having a massive outbreak: https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/health-care/item/35544-south-dakota-has-flattened-the-curve-without-shutting-down

And it looks like the virus has been circulating since at least December, and lots of people have already had it and are already immune: https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/494200-california-gov-orders-autopsies-back-to-december-to-find-out-how-long?fbclid=IwAR3F_TGpKQNoY1YTtvnzIWk45r1DiH3UDlsGpVlzDo75hujDOcSEXUlyfGA and https://komonews.com/news/coronavirus/seattle-flu-study-allegedly-tested-samples-for-covid-19-against-federal-state-guidelines

I can cite more reasons, if you don't feel like this is convincing enough.

                [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

south dakota governor said people could choose to lockdown or not if they want, many did out of caution. so had 63 people get sick. Looks like they were smart. It is unsure if the temperatures do effect this like with the flu, hopefully it does and this summer we are all fine. Now Fauci said it will come back in the fall. People insult Trump a lot but I think he has actually done a good job in having the lockdown go on, not so much as a federal order but let states decide to do it. I think a lot of people got scared seeing what happened to Italy so they voluntarily stayed home. 50,000 did die which sucks. Being immune, hope that is case but we don't know for sure yet. I just don't want to get this at all. I am worried this is like lyme disease, or other viruses like herpes, oh it doesn't kill you but just makes life worse forever. I feel like a lot of healthy people don't realize the repercussions from catching something like this. Can kill you if old. But even if you survive it, it makes life worse. You know how many are against vaccines, well you get a ton as a child, and yeah you are immune to a lot of life threatening things which is great, but they can have complications themselves. But what to do to never catch any virus or disease, stay at home for ever, obviously no that is not realistic. But at the same time do you freely go up to a sick person and let him sneeze on you, no you wouldn't even if there was no coronavirus around right? I'd rather err on the side of caution. Just like I don't go out into woods in the summer anymore because ticks can bite you, I probably won't be going to places with big crowds ever again. I will still go out and live my life just avoid the big crowds.

Many multiples more people will die because of the crashed economy, than if we had let this mildly deadly infection run it's course.

You are 100% correct in that. Poverty is the #1 premature killer of people.

okay, so ppl die every year of smoking, drinking, car wrecks, cancer, and a shitton of more stuff that far surpasses 40-50 k deaths due this overhyped bullshit. Should we ban cars, beer, and cigarettes? just syaing.. the numbers a re purposely overinflated to promote fear and mass hysteria, which coincidentally- flu and pneumonia seems to have been cured in the past 2 months. becuase there are 0 known cases., wanna know why? because they are labeling it as a COVID even without tests. I work in healthcare- and we are told to do this.

                [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

this will kill millions if we don't quarantine
