Still, I'm sure that if you throw your plastic bottle in the garbage someone's going to get on your case even though they have no clue that a good portion of recyclables are going to the same place as the garbage is.
People could use their own containers and buy items in bulk at the store.

Recycling is not a panacea. Avoiding the purchase of the plastic etc. in the first place is the better option.
