Even the name "Co-pilot" reveals that Microsoft customers are no longer the pilots of their own machines, but have been demoted to co-pilot. It looks like Microsoft wants to be co-owner of your machine, equal in authority in its use of the machine.
I use Linux on my main machine and that machine never connects to the internet.

For all the 'futurology' hype, we're regressing to 1960-levels of impersonal computing.
"Your" data is held hostage to various monthly 'subscription fees'. You run rented software on increasingly 'dumb' hardware, subject to top-down control of "users".
