A well-known slip of the tongue. (US forces fought against ISIL.) He meant to note the training of Iraqi forces. If you don't remember, here's a quick explanation, and this is easy to search for online.

They were training Iraqis, not ISIL. Nothing Hillary says switches that around. It's history. You can't change it by saying things.

The US was not on the ISIL side in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

No, it wasn't. GW Bush saw an opportunity in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, to invade Iraq and topple Sadam.

And so he did. ISIL were the enemy. Largely Sadam's military, who were sacked by the US regime.
