If you can't breathe at all because your throat is completely constricted, you can't talk. But otherwise, you can. So long as you can get some air, even if its not enough to keep you alive, you can talk.

In 2009, John Jones took twenty-nine hours to die of asphyxiation from being trapped upside down in a cave. What a nightmarish way to die! But the point is, even though he couldn't get enough oxygen to keep him alive, he was able to talk up to the point where he lost consciousness and then not long afterwards died.

This was just being stuck upside down and having the weight of his internal organs settle on his lungs. In Floyd's case, he had two big burly cops putting their weight on his back and neck.

You can continue to talk while being slowly suffocated. That's how Giles Corey died, at the ripe old age of 81, was slowly crushed to death during the Salem Witch Trials over three days.

If you've every done martial arts or wrestling, or been in a bear hug, you would know that you can still talk even when you aren't getting enough air.

Dude, we have the videos. He wasn't resisting arrest. Chauvin dragged him out of the back of the police car and dropped him on his head, then put him into a deadly restraint position, then held it even after he stopped breathing. Even after the paramedics arrived he wouldn't release it.

Chauvin had his full weight on his neck, and Kueng was pressing down on his back. This is the same deadly technique that cops used to kill Tony Timba, and went completely against MPD training and policy.

And then, even when Floyd lost consciousness and had no pulse, and Officer Lane asked Chauvin to move Floyd into the recovery position twice, Chauvin refused both times. He fucking knew what he was doing.

When the EMT called for assistance and a fire truck arrived, Chauvin gave them the wrong directions to the ambulance to delay them from reaching Floyd for another couple of minutes.

Chauvin knew exactly what he was doing.
