It is literally unconstitutional for the CPC to only put exactly 1 candidate on the ballot. There must always be more candidates than seats.

There's a reason why China is not NK or Soviet Union, and that is the exact reason. It's because China has an actually functioning Proletarian Democracy which isn't fucked by the 1-candidate garbage which plagued 70% of AES states.

Also, they can be of any party. I think there was a NKMT party member who was elected to a high position in some big city back then.

Supression of religion and freedom of speech and human rights abuses are also unconstitutional in North Korea and the USSR. But "Nazis" and "fascists" and "bigots" are subhuman scum who don't deserve such rights. In the same way people who don't vote for the right candidate are traitors to the regime and subhuman scum. And China too is full of gulags and torture and coerced contracts to never speak a word about it. Bloomberg pieces were generally in line with US intelligence as with every international mainstream outlet. For the past couple of months, Bloomberg pieces on China have softened up and have been more focused on truth.

Additionally, ever since the Russian invasion, the US establishment has been softening up on China and asking for their cooperation against Russia. Both Russia and the Chinese see through the pedo tactics now though. Divide and conquer was a tactic that worked in the past against them.
