Prove I'm wrong.
[–]la_cues 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun - 2 years ago (7 children)
Hard to "prove". What about religions based on only love, acceptance, or self discovery? Ones that don't involve themselves with anyone other. (I would like to think I fall into this category, although "religion" is a weird term for it)
It's also not a exclusive state, one can believe in a God and have it not change their morals, ethics. Modern "God" theories also are more likely to point to some type of consciousness, or even extra-terrestrials.
Believing in a God also doesn't exclude desire to learn or wonder of the universe.
It can just be as simple as a belief of how the universe is formed/works, doesn't have to be a loaded thing like you're saying.

Whether you're referring to organize religion(s) or spirituality you didn't mention "God" nor "authority", thus I wasn't talking about that and you haven't disproved my statement.
It's also not a exclusive state, one can believe in a God and have it not change their morals, ethics.
We're all human and have nonsense beliefs and misperceptions on many many many things. God is one myth that I won't partake in and won't need to be more moral, ethical, and a better person that much of humanity.
Modern "God" theories also are more likely to point to some type of consciousness, or even extra-terrestrials.
Nonsense. Outrageous claims require outrageous evidence - and you have none. Further, this has nothing to do with my statement.
I didn't say that and this has nothing to do with disproving my statement.
You may believe in the Big Bang or not but it has nothing to do with anyone's terrible behaviour. I didn't load God. Delusional humans did. You haven't proven I'm wrong. You can't.

Everyone worships.. everyone.
Atheism is now one of the largest religions. Cleanse your sins by proclaiming your love and support for the LGBT/climate/planned parenthood/coronavirus/mask causes. Repent, and drive your prius and drink from paper straws if you are too be worthy.
If you're worthy and are in the correct in group, the state will save you of your sins and absolve you of your transgressions. The state provides salvations to those who believe and confess their wrongdoing. But even those who have confessed, the state must choose you for salvation, it's not freely given..
The state and science dictate that every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that there is but one true god. Those who believe in the Christian God must be suppressed as the fools who hate science. For we all know, this false god is the elixir of the masses.
No no. Make no mistake, those who proclaim atheism or make anti religious condemnations as above are often the most radical, religious zealots out there. The agnostics are the only thoughtful and true unbelievers, and those are very few.
Atheists, or statists, or whatever they pronoun or adjective prefer to be referred to as, are simply the new pagans and new paganism. Why throw your kids to molech, when it's much more acceptable to have an abortion so you don't ruin your life. Why not do unto others by showing your love for them, wear a mask, even though we know it doesn't work, do it to show your 🌈❤️.. it's science, it's dynamic, it is what we say it is.
Meet atheism, the new paganism. It's science

Atheism is now one of the largest religions.
An absence of belief is not a supernatural myth cult religion.
I believe that I do not have a gorilla in my kitchen. That is not a religion.
Almost everyone on this planet is an atheist. They don't believe in Zeus or Thor or Osiris or Hanuman or whatever. Many folks are atheists of all religions except for one single religion.
Cleanse your sins by proclaiming your love and support for the LGBT/climate/planned parenthood/coronavirus/mask causes. Repent, and drive your prius and drink from paper straws if you are too be worthy.
Not everyone blindly worships SCIENTISM and/or social justice warriordumb and/or the state.
the state will save you of your sins and absolve you
...with an experimental injection for a baptism by inflammation.
the state must choose you for salvation, it's not freely given.
Salvation through suffering. Work will make you free.
there is but one true god.
Authority. Soon it will be authority under A.I. Neither deserve worship.
Those who believe in the Christian God must be suppressed as the fools who hate science. For we all know, this false god is the elixir of the masses.
IFIFY: The fentanyl of the masses.
Why throw your kids to molech, when it's much more acceptable to have an abortion so you don't ruin your life.
Get sterilized by the experimental injection and you won't have to worry about Moloch or abortions - or retirement.
wear a mask
...to hide your humanity.
Atheism is simply an absence of belief.

The fact that the elites want us to turn away from Christianity and towards atheism, should give you a sign.
[–]JasonCarswellVoluntaryist 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun - 2 years ago (2 children)
For both there are pros and cons to faith and community as well as seeing though myth, authority, and deeper understanding of the natural world.
When I was much younger I was dead set against Christianity and supported the idea of the separation of church and state. I still think that's necessary but it's only a distraction and meager portion of what needs to be done. We need a separation of banks and state, corporations and state, and in general decentralize all the things, but especially centers of power.
I won't ever stop being an atheist, but I will also not wage misplaced hate on religion when there are more critical targets to deconstruct.
Blind faith in authorities and government are the greatest threats to humanity.

Separation of church and state is a way for jews to get into power in Christian nations.
I think Christianity might be something for you then. It gives you freedom directly from a divine authority.

I agree except for the divine authority. I could do without most of the Bible but I do like the teachings of Jesus, whether he even existed or not. We exist in this Universe under rational Natural Law, that's enough.
