I keep getting excited for platforms like this, then taking one look at them and remembering I don't like twitter regardless of its politics. The format is just annoying. I barely understand how things make it into the feed.

Reddit/saidit seems to be the ultimate discussion UI.

    I liked the Dissenter addon, but they wrote it insecurely and then abandoned it

    I honestly don't get it either. Posting on twitter seems like opening my door and shouting my thoughts in to the night. It's just scraps of random information with no relationship to each other

    The forums system is superior to the feed system. It allows content to be more easily discoverable, and even more easily sortable.
