This is only half the picture. There are record number of uninstalls of ad blockers that youtube blocks, and record installs of ones that youtube does not block. This is not rock science here.

Most creators have began posting on multiple platforms already, due to Yahoo's Youtube's draconian censorship rules. You might find your favorites on a variety of video platforms.

Look into Grayjay. It allows you to follow the person, not the platform.

I'm glad for yt-dlp.exe - download the videos and watch them offline with no ads.

It's also not a bad idea to keep a local copy since youtube videos have a way of disappearing. tubearchivist is another tool that uses yt-dlp to create a local mirror of youtube videos. It can download new videos from a channel and remove ads in the video using sponsorblock.

I have 2 main laptops. One is for streaming and one is for surfing. No blocker on the streaming.

I'm thinking this will be the eventual way to go. Have one wide open computer to view privacy spying asshole websites like Google and Youtube (well all of them)....then let thousands of people share it. This will knock their spying efforts into the dirt. Bring back the dumb terminal!

Why the fuck would you uninstall an Adblocker, when all of them can easily be switched off for specific sites?

I think we're going to see the total opposite; now that millions of people are becoming aware adblockers exist, more and more people will install that. Only about 25% of Youtube visitors knew about/used adblockers, but now the whole net is talking about them.

Seeing as the goog's main income is Adwords ads, this is the dumbest fucking shit they could have pulled.

Wired is cancer by the way, and probably pushing this shit to help save their butt-chum

Up next: YouTube disables the off button completely and runs nothing but ads.
