Affirming = agreeing with retards that they are the gender they are not = lying to the mentally retarded.

Some people are intersex. Some people are retards. An adult who deals with the former by putting their fingers in their ears, closing their eyes, stomping their feet and demanding that they don't exist is probably an example of the latter.

Hermaphrodite people do exist. That is different than transgenders who are simply making stuff up.
