The problem with these vigilante groups is that it makes it really hard to charge them with a crime. Same thing Dateline's To Catch a Predator, most of those guys got off because the investigation wasn't handled by police and the evidence was inadmissible in court. I can appreciate the intentions of protecting children, but if you're trying to keep predators off the streets it's the wrong approach.

Who says that's the intention? They're in California, the prosecutor would probably give him a medal for being a journalist who fucks children.

I don't know what their intention is, he may have lost his job but he's still free and able to go after more children.

It's California. I doubt he'd even be charged.

Only a few got their charges dropped, but usually they just get a couple months.
