I never understood how anything they said was defamatory. Crazy conspiracy theory nonsense? Sure. Defamatory? No.

If positing stupid conspiracy theories was grounds for a lawsuit, every Democrat would have to file for bankruptcy over the Russia collusion hoax.

My guess is there's someone with deep pockets and a hate boner against Jones whose funding this slap suit.

Well, when they compared the whole production to Howard the Duck that was probably a bit harsh. The lighting and set design alone put Sandy Hook head and shoulders above Howard the Duck. And the editing? No comparison. You can't compare a successful exercise in film noir (even an unwelcome one) with a film about a duck trying to bone Leah Thompson.

This is why you start a company, then the company goes bankrupt and not you.

Robert Barnes, who was representing Jones, was saying that Jones did turn over huge amounts of disclosure and that the default judgement against Jones was a travesty of law. So why is Jones folding now? Is he just going to hide his assets to pull a Tiger King on the people suing him?

Ok so here's what I understand. Chapter 11 is for companies to reorganize and to continue operating. In rare cases, the companies reorganizing are actually profitable. This is legal maneuvering to avoid getting screwed over by Texas courts.

I don't know if Infowars is profitable. But in any case, the intention is for Infowars to continue operating.
