how did ending apartheid work out for south africa? is there greater stability there now? is there less murder there now? is there less disease and starvation there now? what is it about the people in these other parts of the world that leaves them unable to solve their own problems and dependent on our intervention? we ought devote our time and energy to solving our own problems and improving the quality of life in our own country, for our own family.

I don't care two shits about Israel for good or ill. I don't know anyone from there, I don't have family there and neither does my boyfriend (hopefully husband soon enough), my duty is to my family and my partner's family. My concerns in that part of the world if anything relate to whether or not war there is affecting either the country I live in or the country my boyfriend is from, and for a brief moment, whether tourism in Egypt is safe because my Dad won a trip there off some stupid betting thing.

This is literally the topic. An independent panel of experts found that Israel practices apartheid. Which it does. It's not like it's a secret. Israel was BFF with South Africa back in the day and learned much. If you don't think Israel is an apartheid state, just try to buy land.

maybe we should stop trying to force people with radically different beliefs and cultures together. especially in other parts of the world outside of our borders. what good has ever come, what good could possibly come, from forcing together people who do not want to be together? has ending apartheid ever resulted in something better? one thing is certain, the un is a threat to the national sovereignty of all its members and should be disbanded along with all of its subsidiary organizations.
