Her crime is raising the issue of whether Jews are white. They want to be able to have it both ways.

Being a jew is like the cheat code for idpol. You get all the privilege of being white with all the oppression of being a jew.

Your post isn't worded right. Being a Jew gives you huge amounts of actual privilege whereas actual whites get the shaft. You also get to pretend to be oppressed without having to suffer any signs of oppression and get to spew anti-white racial hatred while pretending you are making confessions rather than hateful accusations.

Well I should have said perceived privilege and oppression. It's a cheat code for the narrative, reality is something completely different.

I almost sort of agree with her. The concept of "white" and "black" racial groups is unique to the US. People in Africa don't consider themselves black. They're members of a specific tribe or ethnic group, most of which hate all other groups. Europe's the same way. You're not white. Your German, or Italian, or French, etc. And until recently, they routinely fought a ton of bloody wars against each other.

Only in the US, where those ethnic lines were broken down, leaving nothing but superficial skin color as a marker for identity, were people grouped by white and black.

Jewish identity is a strange thing. It's both a religion and an ethnic group. Superficially, yeah, most Jews pass for our modern concept of "white". Even in Hitler's time, that was true, which is why the Nazis had to look at ancestry and have Jews wear stars to help them stand out. So I understand why she, a leftist who believes in white privilege, wants to group in Jews with white people.

People divide themselves in ways that make sense in their situation. This includes defining themselves as "black" in various Western countries, South Africa, Liberia etc. Of course people can have multiple self-definitions. Obviously many Jews define themselves as a separate people and act as such. If Whoopi was grouping Jews with whites in terms of privilege then this was obviously stupid as, unlike whites, Jews are hugely privileged.
