The context warning hypocritically frames the data from the infamous temperatures lows of 1980 and just before...next they will hit the 120 year misleading frame, or the 2000, or the 100K....but never just 10-10% more, because that would totally blow the trend they were looking for.

Don’t be a dick! Account for all the factors, not just one. I agree there is some shenanigans in the press on climate change. But be thorough or you just sound like a conspiracy theorist.

Yes, those people who have theories on people conspiring, should not be listened to, because:

  • Crimes add value to the economy.

Or:

  • Words no longer hold meanings

Pick one.

This isn't a good argument. All someone has to do is show a 50 year chart, and you'll see "plateaus" at various times in the past, but the overall trend has been upward.

Is that Turkey still cherry picking periods of time since when there was no warming? The sunspot cycle is 12 years. Trends on a shorter term than that are not real.

Yes, for fuck's sake, the start of 2016 was warmer than the time around it. If you start in 2015, short trends will be downwards because of that. But you have to exclude the data from this year, because it's been very warm again. And even if end at the end of 2023, the trend is up for any starting year prior to 2015.

If you have any familiarity with the data, it's hilarious that anyone is convinced by this transparent Milloy's Cherry picking.

Even those that don't know his career of confusing science to the public for big industry, working for Philip Morris to obfuscate the cancer smoking link from 1997, and moving on to obfuscating the greenhouse gas - greenhouse effect link for Murray Energy Corp.

The globe is warming.

Well-said. As Americans worry about the millions in the US who believe propaganda like this as well as Trump's obvious lies &c, citing poor education, low-paying part-time jobs, redneck mentality, racist boomers, and much more, what I think we need to keep in mind is how much propaganda like this from RNC PACs and big doners (Big Oil in this case) are manufacturing consensus. The Fairness Doctrine should be resurrected, as it's original purpose and benefit was to keep the US from falling into this mental recession of a minority of big investors and their idiot supporters having influence in political decisions that ruin the lives of many in the 99% (anti-abortion, for example, not to mention serious environmental abuses by the same donors paying for the disinformation we read for this post).

Don't worry. Your life still holds value.

If temps go up by one degree Celsius that'd be a good thing for earth

What's your best evidence of that?

What do you think are the main shortcomings of this article: How would just one degree of temperature rise affect our planet?

He's got nothing. Never does (see comment history). The dumbest new Saiditor troll....

Ah, thanks.

I suppose i shouldn't be disappointed. If he had some evidence it would've been obviously false to the point of uninteresting.

Common sense. Go outside and touch grass and see how cold it is
