What's disgusting to me is this was never an issue until the US military started paying sports teams to have players come out and stand around the flag post 9/11.

The McCain Report details the entire thing and literally no one gives a fuck. Every time I tell a reasonable, free thinking, open minded person about this, they are literally floored and disillusioned beyond belief.

My life is intense and enjoy getting rowdy with some friends around some football. It's good clean fun and people legitimately bond over it. But I have no illusions about disgusting cash behind it.
