This is the conclusion I am reaching as well.

There is a coordination to these acts so sublime that it surpasses the capacity of humans to enact. Until 5 years ago, I didn't believe in Satan. Looking at the past five years and the literally millions of people who have behaved in ways that are explicitly evil (at all levels of society), I cannot explain that except as the dark force in the universe (which exists - as the old saying goes - right down the center of the human heart) making a massive play for dominance.

That force hasn't won, but the destruction it's leaving in its wake is beyond the imagination of any single human or even any group of humans. This is a spiritual wasteland, and only the embodiment of spiritual evil could be capable of such a coordinated attack.
