@Vulptex - I would like to see more about this general theme, specifically regarding the people you mention (MacArthur, et al). Do you have links or book titles to share that provide more details about this?

It's a theory of mine, because the main drivers behind this movement always seem to be associated with the SBC. And if you look back at older sermons from John MacArthur he promotes it decades before anyone else bought into it.

There are others, but they are or at least were widely-acknowledged extremists who have no power or sway. The ones in the SBC are the exception.
