Just stop. There is no way to mind control a person through sound waves.

Manipulate.

There's no way to do that either.

Influence.

By targeting particular neurons?

How advanced do you think neuroscience is?

We know that damage to particular parts of the brain is usually represented as dysfunction of certain aspects of function or personality, but how that dysfunction is manifested is completely unknown. And some people have sequestrated another part of the brain to do a job that most people do in a particular part, to round around damage, or just because their brain development wasn't typical for some unknown reason.

And apart from noticing activity or lack of activity during events like hallucination or epilepsy or dreaming by detecting increased blood flow, that's where we're at.

I used the word influence because we are creatures living in an unnatural environment and at times we do not react perfectly to the environment we created for ourselves. The brain is sensitive to certain environmental factors such as electro magnetic fields, light frequencies and sound waves, which can affect how we think or feel. Exposure to specific factors can cause people to become agitated, for example.

There has long been research into projecting audio remotely, primarily for advertising. We are already capable of using technology to read a persons thoughts or to control a mouse cursor using our brain waves alone, how long do you think it will be before we have a greater grasp of the mind from a distance?

This technology projects audio to the ears, not the brain.

We are already capable of using technology to read a persons thoughts ...

Once calibrated to what that particular persons thoughts look like. And if they learn something, the pattern of that thought in that person changes.

or to control a mouse cursor using our brain waves alone

In a very crude manner. You look at the physical activity area of the brain, and you can detect whether or not they're imagining playing tennis. Then you can train them to imagine playing tennis to move the mouse right, and walking through the rooms of a house to move the mouse left. But you can't read how the tennis game is going, nor what the net looks like or how far they had to move to get the ball or who's court the ball is in. Just that they're imagining something active.

how long do you think it will be before we have a greater grasp of the mind from a distance?

Some decades at least.

I guess in part, it depends how we define their use of the term 'mind control'. The term was used during the pandemic as governments admitted to using mind control techniques in propaganda to impact public behaviour. I doubt the implication is to have full access to a persons complex thought and function. There could be external influences though that affect people's responses to stimulus though, such as being more susceptible to their propaganda by using specific broadcast methods that tap into the subconscious mind.

Which governments did that?
