I think there is occult stuff going on, but in a different way.

Great example of occult inserted into art.
I do think that the occult is embedded into science.
Like in the dissection of frogs and human bodies, and the belief in maths over observation and understanding.

I don't think that most artists know what the occult is, besides a few.
A lot of people are just "attracted" to it. Just as many are attracted to religious rituals.

To me the "attraction" seems caused by spirits "pulling" them towards things that the spirits can enjoy.
So lots of drama, rituals, emotional garbage and fakery.

Simplified, there are kind of 3 fields in which spirits live:
1. Thinking, fantasizing.
2. Traumatic emotions, or fake feelings.
3. Bodily pleasure or trauma.
All 3 need active input from people so the lost spirits can feed of their energy.
With addiction, there are many spirits, so a single person can hardly fight it.
