Uh, the "block" refers to each page published in the ledger, containing transactions. They're "chained" because you can only generate the next page using inputs from the prior one.

I'm aware of how it works, and how the name came to be.. I'm pointing out the coincidence of what it's named, and how it most certainly can evolve into a nefarious system in the hands of unscrupulous people that literally manifests the enslavement of humanity to the block/cube.
