I'm not seeing much evidence to support internal betrayal. The US was likely monitoring the Iraqi who they told could work with Soleimani, as part of the Saudi Iran negotiations. Or they monitored the travel.

Dude was head of their CIA and reported directly to the top. You don't put young people in roles like that. These folks must be cool under pressure.
