      The good news is that it is reversible in young children, and the body can still heal and revert minor damage if the kid is too young; brain plasticity in children allows that. If it shuts down parts of the brain, however, its too much and you can only reverse it partially.

      With large numbers like that you only need about an extra 1,000 above expected to show statistical significance of an increase in mortality.

      But you're still about 119,999 infant deaths within 10 days of vaccines short of an indication of anything.

      • That's about 110,000 within 10 days of anything, dividing the 4,000,000 by 365 days, then multiplying by the 10 day period in the article.
      • The number you need for statistical significance, using the basic rule of thumb that σ ≈ √n for random events occurring in a time period (approximating with the false assumptions that the events are independent and the probability of each occurring is constant, but for ball-park estimates, they won't change the significance threshold by too much), and taking 3σ for statistical significance.
