Meanwhile saidit has no ads, doesn't profit from your presence, and can't sell your data, because saidit doesn't gather any data beyond what's needed to run the site.

You know, like a public utility. Like how it's supposed to be. Not sure why this is such a difficult thing, other than these people are clearly driven by greed rather than any desire to create a public utility.

Yep. Twitter was dying before Trump won, then it gave them life support with all the Trump hate. Trump should've left the fucking site years ago.

Indeed - and yet not much of a change in users - relatively speaking - in the past 4 years:

I think he's been rather ungrateful for all of the free press at Twitter, CNN, and everywhere else. His last words in office should be to thank social media and news media.

Twitter's share price has gone down quite a bit today.

Yep.

Really, Twitter and Trump had a sort of love hate relationship.

Trump is a fool for using the enemy's platforms.

No shit Sherlock. If you're not paying to use a service, you're not the consumer. You're the product.

When Trump was giving capitalists tax cuts, you guys loved that. When Trump made millions ripping people off you thought he was a wise capitalist. You fear mongered over Bernie Sanders because he knew capitalism isn't always humain. Now capitalism is bad? Fuck you.

Reminds me of Musk: sure, Tesla stock is sky high now but all it takes is one dumb tweet for the stock price to nosedive. I'm sure shareholders would love it if twitter banned Musk but it'll never happen because he generates so much traffic on the platform. I sincerely hope 2021 is a really bad year for big tech...

Yeah, wish I'd bought early. But you gotta sell sometime and you'll still want to kill yourself when it climbs to double what you sold at...

Fuck twitter... The internet routes around censorship.

To a lesser extent this is what happens everywhere. You create content for these platforms. It does feel like you're not valued when they just ban you away. Especially when you're a big or popular contributor.

Twitter/fb/Instagram should definitely just have done a temp ban at worst. The trumptards were getting riled up, but that's no reason to permanently censor the Prez.
