in other words: factually correct?

The mainstream is culturally Hegelist, so to speak (of which you are one). It believes in free will. Science & business are marxist i.e. correct (billion dollar industries depend on the information's accuracy). Business & science both know that, as Marx said: "sein bestimmt bewusstsein" = your demographic determines your consciousness. Behavioural trends follow demographies. We aren't all unique individuals, otherwise no book could ever find mass appeal. Every book would only ever appeal to just 1 person in the whole world.

The only reason people can be coerced into buying crap is using the marxist theory while exploiting the culture of the everyman that falsely believes in free will. If the everyman knew he wasn't buying the crap due to his mythical free will but rather because he is acting as an automaton, he'd be a lot less likely to buy said crap.

As usual right-wingers are not educated enough to understand how critical thinking works, instead they spend all their time on a bastardisation of it, finding menace in their own shadow, more blind to reality than even the apathetic masses.
