Not really a win.

This was not the first or only ‘concession’ by the EU. Last week, the EU proposed ‘an exemption on rules requiring farmers to leave part of their land fallow’.

“Belgian’s Prime Minister Alexander De Croo welcomed the proposal in a post on X, saying it was ‘crucial we keep our farmers on board to a more sustainable future of farming, as part of our determination to get the Green Deal done’.”

Exemptions can be withdrawn. Remove the rules requiring an exemption.

‘I know that they are worried about the future of agriculture and their future as farmers. But they also know that agriculture needs to move to a more sustainable model of production so that their farms remain profitable in the years to come’.”

The EU is continuing it's pursuit of the destruction of agriculture.

The farmers of Europe should unite under a common framework to impose tariffs on the EU unless they back away from the climate agenda. You want food? You pay 50% tariffs or follow our demands - otherwise we sell our products to Russia, Africa, UK, etc.

They're worried if farmers produce too much food, food prices go down because of supply and demand. In the USA the govt pays farmers to produce less food. The elites want food prices high so it's hard for the poor and middle class to get ahead. But since the green revolution aka agricultural revolution, it has been very easy and cheap for farmers to produce a lot of food. It's why world population exploded which the rich are desperate to reduce.

I never heard this concept before but that makes sense

The overall concept is in 1984's theory of oligarchal collectivism. Technology has made people's standard of living easier. The rich are in power because of technology so they can't just stop it but they want to artificially lower our living standards and to control population growth.

exemptions can be withdrawn, and laws can be changed ... and farmers can drive into town again.

Missing the point. It's a pressure valve.

Only a delay. Those soulless creatures won't stop until they're dead.

I also didn't see mention of them stating that they would cancel the tariff-free dumping of Ukrainian farming goods on their own markets. I've saw the most despicable EU news articles claiming this specifically was 'farmers begging to prevent competition'...

The Farmers will do good to not stop until real action is made. These EU self declared royalty will simply pay empty lip-service as always, just as this non-fix is. It's almost as bad as Biden's fake immigration bill.
