I can remember the exact moment when I went from a mindset of "This is a Liberal government doing its best in the face of an impossible public health and safety issue" to "Fuck every single one of these corrupt cunts in both the Liberal and the NDP parties". It was the moment they invoked the Emergencies Act while it was clearly apparent that the truckers were causing nothing more than a public nuisance to these fuckers as they walked through the plebes on their way to work.

I didn't even fully agree with the truckers' stances on the issue, but these are my countrymen, and the government's betrayal of them was a betrayal of each and every one of us, no matter what our opinions or political affiliations may be. I have never in my life cast a federal vote for a party other than the Liberals or the New Democrats, but neither of them will be an option for me in the next election, and probably not for the one after that either.

That legendary protest made me proud to be a Canadian again. Honk

The trucker convoy's unwavering resistance against vaccine mandates and government overreach stirred a sense of pride in me as a Canadian. Their relentless spirit and peaceful demonstrations showcased the true values of our nation. This protest will go down in history as a testament to the strength of unity and the power of standing up for what you believe in.

Even if he was convicted of a crime, JT would just fly off to Switzerland to live out his life in a castle supplied by his overlords. I care about a precedent being set for the governments that follow.

What precedent? They clearly violated the law before, ignored it, got away with it and were told after the fact that it was wrong. There's nothing preventing this, or something trivially different to avoid violating this ruling, from happening again.

    What law

Invocation of the Emergencies Act without justification.

Really invoking it broke that law, if it's an emergency then stopping truckers who are part of the supply chain makes the emergency worse.

This means nothing until Castreau is severely punished.
