Even if he was convicted of a crime, JT would just fly off to Switzerland to live out his life in a castle supplied by his overlords. I care about a precedent being set for the governments that follow.

What precedent? They clearly violated the law before, ignored it, got away with it and were told after the fact that it was wrong. There's nothing preventing this, or something trivially different to avoid violating this ruling, from happening again.

Really invoking it broke that law, if it's an emergency then stopping truckers who are part of the supply chain makes the emergency worse.
