I read an article not so long ago about how yes, if you are a Chinese female celebrity you are essentially a prostitute and a slave. The article did not talk about male celebrities. Wish I could find it again.

I find it entirely plausible for either male or female.

Hollywood has been doing the same thing for years. Weinstein was hardly an aberration...

It's more capitalist in the western sports world. Like Anna Kournikova getting $500k a night from Saudi princes when it became clear she couldn't compete on the court. But that's her choice.
