Plenty of people who are against abortion also give their lives to assisting the poor. Sorry that you are surrounded by lukewarm christians.

Also, I'm anti-abortion, and I'm not christian, and if it were up to me, we would feed and clothe the poor children of this world using the money we use to build those dumb ass stadiums. Don't cast such disparaging generalizations over people.

When I am surrounded by these "lukewarm Christians" how could I possibly not disparage them? Why would I turn a blind eye to it?

I don't ask you to. I ask you to stop making sweeping generalizations. I saw you doing it towards "satanists" on another thread.

You know who also makes lame, sweeping generalizations? Lukewarm christians.

Looking at everything as being its own unique and special snowflake isn't particularly useful. Sure, no generalizations are completely representative of the relevant population but there's trends.

A trend isn't a generalization, they are different concepts. A trend is based off of collected data, and they change as the data changes. Generalizations are based off of ignorance and prejudice, and they rarely ever change unless radical change comes to social perspectives.

I'm not telling you to treat everybody like a special snowflake, I'm telling you to stop throwing blanket statements around. Plenty of people do this, but you are too smart to join in with their stupidity.

It sounds like it's a trend when you agree with it and a generalization when you don't. I'm sure not all people are like the people I talked about but enough are that I said what I did.

It sounds like you want to ignore trends and assume everything is a generalization, or vice versa. You just want to defend yourself, it's ok.

"Not all people are like the people I talked about, but enough are that I said what I did."

/\ pretty good way to describe a generalization, you outdid yourself this time
