The Uighurs have strong ties to Turkey and many travel there to get directions. But China is not that easy to mess with and won't become the next Syria.

Through the centuries they forbade their daughters to marry outsiders. It's typical Muslim strategy that you can approach other women and get them into your faith, but the reverse is strictly out of the question.
