I am talking about the US and not getting involved with Taiwan. If you can get the rest of the world to agree that Taiwan should be free, and participate in sanctions against China to that effect awesome. If the Taiwanese people want to fight for their own homeland, that is their prerogative. They need to weigh that against all their other options.

not getting involved with Taiwan.

The only reason Taiwan can defend itself is because of the US military. In exchange they manufacture goods for the US. And the US wants to stop Chinese expansion, so that's why the US supports Taiwan, and Philippines, and Japan. They're all buffers against Chinese expansion.

If the US just walked away from this arrangement tomorrow, then China would almost instantly be able to conquer most of Asia... and they've shown they're willing to do so... so if we want to discuss the situation intelligently we first have to acknowledge this reality.

I am anti-war, which is why the idea of the US suddenly pulling out of these places and leaving them helpless for China to conquer is a bad idea.

All we have to do is give Japan the green light. We are the only reason China exists today. Besides, what difference does it make how big China is? The bigger they are the faster they fall apart.

The bigger they are the faster they fall apart.

Not sure I agree with that logic.

All we have to do is give Japan the green light.

Last time we did that, Japan conquered China...

We are the only reason China exists today.

You mean through our consumerism buying Chinese-manufactured products? Can't disagree there.
