The People's Republic of China is an illegitimate organization. Hong Kong, Macau, and all of mainland China belongs to the Republic of China (commonly referred to as Taiwan). Fuck the PRC. The US, RoC, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, South Korea, Macau, and every other nation that has a military presence in far east asia needs to bomb China and it's allies back to kingdom come. Far too long have we allowed these Commies free reign to do as they wish.

Taiwan isn't the one trying to actively take over China, it's the other way around

I don't see your point. War is bad and should be avoided whenever possible. Especially when I don't give a fuck about Taiwan. I'm sorry for them, but realistically they aren't angels. Taiwan was a theocracy before China invaded. That means they weren't kinder to non budists than China is to them. And the budist lifestyle is shit. It is not virtuous to sit around doing nothing with the arrogant delusion that you are figuring out greater truth through sedentary meditation. They don't produce technology, or art, or even good theologians.

War is bad and should be avoided whenever possible.

Yes I agree.

But when China is talking about invading and taking over, what do you expect the people to do? Just let their country get invaded and overthrown?

War should be avoided, but the only justifiable war is a defensive war.

So it's really China who is the problem, because they are continually trying to expand their empire by conquering new territory. If they would simply stop, then almost all war in the region would stop too. The CCP is the agitator.

I am talking about the US and not getting involved with Taiwan. If you can get the rest of the world to agree that Taiwan should be free, and participate in sanctions against China to that effect awesome. If the Taiwanese people want to fight for their own homeland, that is their prerogative. They need to weigh that against all their other options.

not getting involved with Taiwan.

The only reason Taiwan can defend itself is because of the US military. In exchange they manufacture goods for the US. And the US wants to stop Chinese expansion, so that's why the US supports Taiwan, and Philippines, and Japan. They're all buffers against Chinese expansion.

If the US just walked away from this arrangement tomorrow, then China would almost instantly be able to conquer most of Asia... and they've shown they're willing to do so... so if we want to discuss the situation intelligently we first have to acknowledge this reality.

I am anti-war, which is why the idea of the US suddenly pulling out of these places and leaving them helpless for China to conquer is a bad idea.

All we have to do is give Japan the green light. We are the only reason China exists today. Besides, what difference does it make how big China is? The bigger they are the faster they fall apart.

The bigger they are the faster they fall apart.

Not sure I agree with that logic.

All we have to do is give Japan the green light.

Last time we did that, Japan conquered China...

We are the only reason China exists today.

You mean through our consumerism buying Chinese-manufactured products? Can't disagree there.

The harvesting of organs, rape, torture, and complete disregard for human life and liberty is even worse.

You are right that we have a serious problem on our hands. However, the level of abstraction of modern warfare has been raised. The real front lines are found only in IDE's.

I predict an economic collapse in China just like the USSR. It's just a matter of time. Granted that time is potentially a couple decades given China's size and the Chinese people's pacivity and willingness to work under crushing oppression.

HK gets 23 more years of autonomy before China can acceptably, per agreement, put the screws to the city-state. Why are the world's governments tolerating this massive breaking of an international agreement that will impact everyone in the long term? Stop looking the other way and move away from the tyranny ASAP.

[–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Exactly. They're showing they don't honor serious international agreements about territory, to the point of causing massive unrest in obvious empire expansion moves, so why should anyone listen to them ever again? They're burning up the goodwill image they spent 30 years developing on the world stage. Not a smart move.

why are they tolerating a violent oppressive communist china? because they're corrupt politicians paid bribe money by internationalist jews running the mega corps profiting big time from making shit in commie slave china and selling it in formerly first world western countries

Yeah I don't think China is going to be able to do this to Hong Kong, they're too independent and they will resist it
